Who is responsible

Box Match is operated by Arris Evans, the controller responsible for personal information used to run this service. For privacy questions or requests, email arris.akbar1@gmail.com.

Information we handle

How we use information

We use account and request information to provide the profile and messaging features you ask for (performance of our contract with you). Public profile publication is based on your consent; you can withdraw publication through your profile. We use necessary technical and operational information for our legitimate interests in protecting accounts, preventing misuse, troubleshooting and responding to support requests. Where a legal obligation requires information, we process it to meet that obligation.

What becomes public

Publishing a fighter profile makes the submitted profile details visible to everyone, including promoters and search engines. This includes your fighter photo if you add one. You can replace or remove your photo in My profile and save your changes. Do not include your home address, identity documents, medical records or other sensitive information in your profile or messages.

Your sign-in email is not displayed as part of your public fighter profile. Fight requests and conversations are available to the participating accounts rather than the public directory. The operator and service providers may access stored information when necessary to administer, support or protect the service. Recipients can retain information you send them; we cannot control copies or screenshots made by others.

Weekly fighter roundups and opponent introductions are optional and off by default. If you opt in during fighter registration, profile editing or Email alerts, we use your account email for weekly selections of newly published fighter profiles and occasional potential opponent introductions. We record the wording, time and source of that choice. Existing roundup-only subscriptions are not automatically expanded to opponent introductions. You can unsubscribe through the email or Email alerts. Public fighter names, locations, weights and photos may appear in these roundups. We keep subscription preferences and delivery records to honour your choices and prevent duplicate emails.

Public promoter profiles contain self-reported business details. When you submit a report, the administrator can review the reported profile or conversation and your explanation. We store reports and account blocks to investigate concerns and prevent unwanted contact. Blocking stops new requests and replies between the accounts; existing conversation history remains accessible.

When both accounts accept a fight proposal, we keep the agreed details, acceptance status and confirmation time. We use each accepting account’s sign-in email to send the agreed details and any cancellation notification. These agreement emails are separate from optional weekly roundups.

Email notifications

New fighter registrations enable emails for new fight requests and incoming promoter messages for the sign-in email where available, unless an existing preference says otherwise. These are service notifications, not a subscription to promotional emails. You can disable them through Email alerts. Disabling alerts does not remove requests from your inbox. Notification delivery is not guaranteed.

Sign-in providers and service providers

Box Match uses Supabase for Google, Apple and email-code sign-in, where enabled and Cloudflare hosting and database infrastructure. Resend sends notification emails when the email service is configured. Email providers also process support correspondence. These services receive the information needed for their functions.

When you choose Google sign-in, Google and Supabase will process authentication information, and Box Match will use the account identifier and basic identity details, such as email, supplied for sign-in. This does not request access to your Gmail messages. Apple processes authentication information when you choose Apple sign-in. If you use Hide My Email, we receive an Apple relay address. Email sign-in sends a one-time code to the address you enter through our configured email provider; Box Match does not store an email password.

Providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States and Europe. Their applicable privacy notices and data-processing terms describe their processing locations and transfer arrangements. Contact Arris Evans for information about the arrangements applying to your data. See Cloudflare, Resend, Supabase and Google.

Storage and removal

Saved profiles, conversations and preferences remain stored while needed to provide your account and its history. Removing a public listing hides it; it does not erase the saved profile or conversations. There is currently no automatic account-deletion or expiry feature. To request deletion, contact us using the email above.

When assessing retention or a deletion request, we consider whether the account is still used, whether a conversation or support issue remains open, other participants' rights, security needs and any applicable legal obligation or dispute. Information no longer needed for those purposes should be deleted or anonymised. Where information must be retained, we will explain the reason in responding to your request.

Friday fight-request reminders are a separate optional email subscription. We store your choice, the wording you agreed to, its source and timestamp, and delivery records to prevent repeat sends. These reminders start from 6pm UK time on Fridays while your fighter profile is public and available for offers. You can unsubscribe using the email link or Email alerts without changing your Monday roundup or message-alert preferences.

Your choices and rights

You can edit or unpublish your profile and change your email preferences. Depending on the circumstances, you can also request access, correction, erasure, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Right to object: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting Arris Evans. We will consider your circumstances and any overriding grounds for continuing.

Email arris.akbar1@gmail.com to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing account data. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113.

Cookies, children and other services

Sign-in and hosting services may use cookies or similar session storage needed to operate and secure the service. Box Match's application does not currently include advertising trackers. Fighter registration is for people aged 18 or over. Contact us if a child has submitted a profile. Ticket payments are not currently available; external services you choose to visit have their own privacy notices.

Changes

We will update this page when the service or its data handling changes. The date above identifies the latest revision.

When you send an offer, we store your verified sign-in email to notify you if the recipient selects “I’m interested”. Each conversation reply can also notify the other participant at their verified email address, subject to their message-alert preference. These updates are separate from optional weekly roundups.

If both participants opt in to advertise an agreed matchup, Box Match publishes their fighter names, weight, rounds and proposed date for promoters. Either participant can stop advertising it. Private messages, purse terms and email addresses are not included in this listing.

A promoter’s shared event offer is visible to that promoter and both matchup accounts, including the event details, both proposed purses and messages. Updates notify the other participants at their verified email addresses, subject to their message-alert settings. Email addresses are not shown to other participants.
